A Look Inside Ginger's Buying Trip to New York

Have you wondered where Ginger finds the great lines we carry at Ginger Howard Selections? Here she recaps her latest buying trip in New York!

Last week I attended the February Coterie and Moda Clothing and Accessory Show in New York. My precious friend, Lee Anne Cowart attended with me. She has been going to New York markets with me for nearly 20 years, braving the freezing cold New York winter weather!

We flew up Sunday morning and checked into the Women's National Republican Club of which I am a member. It is in a wonderful location right at Rockefeller Center. We had a yummy lunch and took a short nap, and then headed over to Times Square Church for their evening service. If you are ever in New York, I highly recommend going! It was wonderful! Afterwards, we had dinner at Tavern on the Green, and it was delicious!

Monday morning, we hopped in a cab to go over to the Javitz Center. The first day, we usually just walk up and down the aisles to see if any new line catches our eye. We found a beautiful new jewelry line, Cristina Sabatini. It is a higher end line with beautiful stones. Mostly, the first day is for scouting. We were exhausted after looking at so many beautiful things, (and some not-so-beautiful things). There are so many lines showing that it really is like finding a needle in a hay stack and when we do we just "oooh" and "aaah!"

Monday night we had a fantastic dinner that night at Remi, an Italian restaurant near our hotel.

Tuesday was a work work work day. We saw many of our faithful lines: Jude Connally, Laroque, Tyler Boe, Vilagallo, and Krazy Larry. And yes, Krazy Larry is a real person, and we did a Facebook Live with him that you can watch here. We will be having a trunk show with him Tues., March 19 and Wed., March 20!

The trends that we saw for Fall:
-Wide leg pants
-High waisted pants
-Feathered embellishments
-Bodysuits (which look great with the high waisted pants
-Neon pink
-Lots of Navy
-The 80's look
-Leopard, leopard, leopard! Leopard was in every single line we saw! Animal prints are not going out anytime soon.

We found some great new lines, and have already had Hinson Wu in the shop as part of our trunk show last week! We also picked up two other new lines for fall: Capote and JOH!

We also are so excited to get to carry Julie Brown in the fall.  This line is so fabulous and we are thrilled to be able to carry it!

Tuesday night we went out with the gals from Two Sisters in St. Simons and Just the Thing from Columbia!

We went to a wonderful Irish Pub, Neary's which is a favorite of Kathie Lee Gifford and many famous people, including several former presidents. We had a fantastic time swapping notes from our days at Coterie. It is also so helpful to share and get advice and insight from like-minded shop owners. The food was delicious and we shut the place down!

Wednesday, we were at the show bright and early to shop our last day. We were thrilled with our purchases and notes we took for future purchases. We took a late afternoon flight and got back into Atlanta Wednesday night, exhausted but thankful for a safe and successful show.

I am so thankful for my sweet friend, Lee Anne, who gives me her opinions at the show. If we both don't absolutely agree on something, we pass. We select the very best of all the lines and clothing we see and bring them back to you, our loyal and faithful customers, at Ginger Howard Selections!

We look forward to getting these beautiful clothes in for Fall, and some even sooner! Happy Shopping!
